Certification Options

Seraphin: A calibration is performed on every test measure and prover manufactured by Seraphin® using standards traceable to the National Institute of Standards & Technology. A factory calibration report is available for vessels upon request at time of purchase order. This report does not give uncertainty values.

Weights & Measures: In the United States, State Weights and Measure Agencies can perform calibrations and recalibrations of test measures and provers. The certification and calibration criteria vary with each district but comply with Handbook 44, “Specifications, Tolerances and Other Technical Requirements for Weighing and Measuring Devices,” administered by the National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM). Please check with your local government official for details or visit http://www.ncwm.net/

NVLAP: NIST administers the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP). NVLAP is in full conformance with the standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), including ISO/IEC 17025, Guide 58 and the relevant requirements of ISO 9002 (ANSI/ASQC Q92-1987) as suppliers of calibration or test results. The Calibration Report and uncertainty values provide satisfactory compliance with criteria established in Code of Federal Regulations, ISO/IEC Guide 25 and encompass mutual international recognition agreements. N.I.S.T.: The National Institute of Standards & Technology provides Calibration Services. The NIST calibration report includes an uncertainty analysis. The uncertainty of the vessel will depend on its reproducibility and the uncertainty of any instrumentation associated with the determination of the vessel’s volume.
